"I am a Conceptual Artist who expresses herself mostly through photography; but photography becomes an object, an image, a political opinion. So, objects, images and opinions are my materials. I like Conceptual Art because allows me to work project by project, and free me from repeating myself in the same visuals elements, allows me to play and find meanings to stir myself, people and society, even in ways that they normally use to look to reality. I approach subjects like feminism, the relationship between the human body and the space, and the vision (in how we look) sometimes underlining the dysfunctional of society and human relations and other times challenging the vision creating a new aesthetics with abstract forms." Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Verónica Aponte lives and works in the Phoenix Metro Area.
